Pleasant surprises are just what this young Mountaineer basketball team delivered in 2007. With little expected of them, this team came out of the shadows of past West Virginia basketball teams to create its own identity. They emerged as winners, eager to take on the grueling challenges of a college basketball season.Game after game they delivered, much to the delight of the Mountaineer nation. They hustled and outworked their opponents. Young at heart but savvy at the game of basketball, the 2007 Mountaineers brought a championship to Morgantown and became West Virginia's "Young Champions."
