| During the 1982-1983 season, 76ers legend Billy Cunningham coached Philadelphia to a league best 65-17 record. Prior to the start of the season, the Sixers signed Moses Malone, the league reigning MVP. Malone took home his second consecutive MVP award during his first season in a Sixers uniform. With the acquisition of Malone the Sixers were able to reach the top on the NBA world by winning their first title since the 1966-1967 season. Malone's presence was evident as he led the league with an unprecedented 15.3 rpg. |
