NFL Chicago Bears: 2006 NFC Champions

When Lovie Smith was hired to be the Chicago Bears head coach in January 2004, he announced his three point plan for the franchise; (1) Beat the Packers, (2) Win the division, (3) Become Super Bowl Champions. In Smith's first season, the Bears achieved goal number one. The next season, they achieved goal number two. And in 2006, Smith's third season, the Bears came within one victory of achieving goal number three. In 2006, the Bears had their best season in 21 years. They won the NFC Championship game and finished the regular season with the best record in the National Football Conference. Their run was sparked by a defense that allowed the fewest points in the conference. Their high-powered offense was led by 23 touchdown passed from Rex Grossman, the most by a Bears quarterback since 1995. Their Special Teams unit was the most explosive in the league. Rookie phenom Devin Hester set an NFL record for most touchdown returns in a season with six. Relive the Bears extraordinary season in this NFL Films DVD.
