A year before Haywood made his historic transition into professional basketball he proudly helped lead the USA basketball team to Olympic gold in the 1968 Mexico City games. During his rookie year in the ABA, Haywood was both an offensive and defensive presence. He was named the ABA's Rookie of the Year as well as the leagues MVP by averaging a league best 30 points and 19.5 rebounds per game. After a successful rookie campaign, Spencer Haywood transferred his talent to the Seattle SuperSonics of the NBA. Despite league wide disputes over his eligibility, Haywood was allowed to play because he proved that he needed to make a living to provide for his family. Haywood started a revolution that allowed players who didn't graduate college into the NBA. Haywood would go onto help lead the Supersonics to their first NBA playoffs.

Call 866-879-6485 today to ensure you are the first to have one.
