2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game - Florida vs. Oklahoma





The Florida Gators claimed their second BCS National Championship in three seasons by defeating the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners 24-14 in the 2009 FedEx National Championship Game. With the victory, Florida coach Urban Meyer became the first head coach to lead a team to two BCS titles. In a game that featured the last two Heisman Trophy winners, the Gators were led by the game's most outstanding offensive player, quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow completed 18 of 30 passes for 231 and two touchdowns, while also gaining 109 yards rushing. Wide receiver Percy Harvin also contributed with 171 yards of total offense, including 122 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Gators defense held one of college football's most prolific offenses to a season low 14 points and 363 total yards and intercepted two passes off Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford.
